President's Message

The new board of Directors for 2010-12 was elected after the Annual General Meeting, held on May 8, 2010. In the presence of many leaders in our board, I felt very honored to be chosen as the President of the Scarborough York Region Chinese Business Association (SYRCBA).

I thank the members of the Board who have been very supportive, allowing me to lead the China Trade Mission with a delegation of 40 members during May 19-30, 2010 right after my election. The mission was a huge success, and was organized by the Confederation of Greater Toronto Chinese Business Association, with her Worship Mayor Hazel McCallion, Mayor Linda Jackson and his Worship Mayor Dave Barrow as our Honorary Team Leaders, who brought the team to visit some of the busiest cities such as Shanghai, Suzhou, Shijiazhuang, Yangzhou, Xiemen, Beijing, Hong Kong and Zhongshan and had a better understanding of their business environments.

This is the first SYRCBA China Trade Mission, and in the years to come, our association would like to carry on in organizing more trade missions in order to allow our members to continue to build mutual respect and healthy, strong relationships between Canada and China.

We also look forward to generate a tremendous amount of interest in what's happening among our local Chinese business community as well as within the main stream business community in Ontario while showcasing what SYRCBA has to offer for the future.

On behalf of the Board, we will continue the mission to serve our members and to be responsive to our community.
